Nano ‘06


Boiling Point

Pretty much everything needs to be updated, but as Nano ‘07 is approaching, more than likely nothing will be. Feel free to read what I wrote last year.

Setting

  • Science Fiction
  • Living underground, global warming makes above ground intolerable. Can only go above during winter.
  • Reflective Domes are where rich people live.

Main Character

  • Chironami Sashura, “Chiro”
  • Main character is young female, but not a child.
  • Already she works while attending school, when today she would merely be in school.
  • She enjoys spending time in a holo booth, and often reserves one when it is too hot on the surface.
  • Her dream is to one day live in a Reflective Dome.

Secondary Main Character

  • Memsi Wilmington
  • Character is female, very poor and very young.
  • Spends much time outside, very dark complected.
  • Parent/s work very long hours.
  • Can only afford basic education, so s/he knows how to read/write, but that is all.
  • Child scavenges for things to sell.
  • She is a tool of revenge by her father, Hosiah Wilmington.

Tertiary Main Character

  • Lorala Tisu
  • Female Male adult. Engineer and/or Woman of importance.
  • Daughter: Soshi Tisu

Villain

  • Hosiah Wilmington
  • Believes the Domes are a shadow government, and that the Mound Leaders help to keep them in charge.
  • Blames them both for miners deaths, and maybe other things he has not yet revealed.

Plot

Original Plot, actual story shall end in the same place, but slightly different.

Domers are dying out and realize they must allow moles? in to bulwark their shrinking populations. Moles flock to the Domes, all hoping to be let in, but after a certain amount the gates are closed. More arrive, and the others stay camped out, all hoping to once more live above ground.

They try to dig a tunnel, or sneak in through conduits, and some make it that way, but many die. The Dome is beseiged and out of spite the mob decides to dig down and sever the power or piping. Also sabotage wind machines.

Reflective Dome fails. Fleeing Domers seek shelter, crowding the underground warrens, competing for living space with the moles and causing conflict to break out.
